1/11

Jake did his math assignment.
Jake took a shower.
Jake left the bathroom a mess.
Jake's room isn't clean, but he told me it was.

We were going over the boys language assignment and I could tell Jake had cheated. He insisted he didn't, promised, then when he had no explanation admitted to one, then another etc.

Jake did well on his math assignment.

Jake worked on his language arts.

Jake helped make dinner.

It seems like lying and cheating are a common element in Jacob's life. The good news for him is that he is not good at either of these, therefore, he will have to learn NOT to lye and cheat. It gets you nowhere in life. When you get caught and lying and cheating it makes you look about ten times worse than if you had just told the truth to begin with.

I suggest a ten for one rule. If Jacob gets caught lying or cheating (or if we believe this is the case) Jacob loses something worth 10X. If he is caught telling the truth he gains something worth 1X. Maybe keeping track of this in a spreadsheet will help facilitate. It's just an idea, maybe Jacob can come up with a better one. But the bottom line is something has to be done about the lying and cheating.
